My home, My Country, Indonesia

Hello My Friend

Today I am re-writing about my home, my country.
It is because I was born and grew up here in Indonesia. And ofcourse I am proud of becoming Indonesian.

One day in your holiday, do not forget to come to my home.
Everything here is very beautiful.
May be you like Bali so much,
Everything there is so unique that you will never find anywhere.
But, there are still many tourism object you can visit here. Not only Bali that is very famous in the world. We still have lake Toba, Borobudur temple (the biggest one in the world), etc.

So, make sure that you make a plan for the next holiday.

And now let me tell you about it

STATE PHILOSOPHY
Pancasila is the philosophic fundamentals of the state. The word “Pancasila” is derived from two Sanskrit words, “panca” which means five, and “sila” which means principle. Pancasila consists of five principles that are interrelated and inseparable, namely:

1. The belief in one God2. A just and civilized humanism 3. Unity of Indonesia4. Democratic citizenship lead by wise guidance born of representative consultation5. Social just for all the people of Indonesia

Indonesia is a democratic country that applies a presidential system and Pancasila is the soul of the Indonesian democracy. Indonesia adopts a democracy that is based on the 5 principles known as the Pancasila Democracy. These state fundamentals were proclaimed by President Soekarno (the first President of Indonesia) on the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on 17 August 1945.

GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION
Indonesia is one of the largest archipelagos in the world that has 17,508 islands, situated between 6 degrees northern latitude and 11 degrees southern latitude and spreading from 97 degrees to 141 degrees eastern longitude and it is located between two continents – Asia and Australia/Oceania. This strategic position greatly influences the country’s culture, social, politics and economy.

Stretching along 3,977 miles between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, Indonesia has a total area of 1.9 million square miles including the ocean waters.

The five large islands of Indonesia are: Sumatera covering 473.606 square km, Java with 132.107 square km, Kalimantan (the third largest island in the world) with an area of 539.460 square km, Sulawesi with 189.216 square km, and Papua with an area of 421.981 square km.

GEOLOGICAL HISTORY
The islands of Indonesia were formed in the Miocene age (12 million years BC); Palaeocene age (70 million years BC); Eocene age (30 million years BC); Oligacene age (25 million years BC). As people from Asia started to migrate, it is believed that Indonesia existed since the Pleistocene age (4 million years BC). The islands have a great effect on the change of the Australian and Pacific tectonic plate. The Australian plate changes slowly with an upward movement into the small plates of the Pacific plate that moves southward. Between these lines, the islands of Indonesia are stretched out.

This makes Indonesia as one of the most changing geological area in the world. There are 400 volcanic mountains – which 100 of them are active- that dot the islands of Indonesia. Every day Indonesia experiences three vibrations, at least one earthquake a day and one volcanic eruption in a year.

DEMOGRAPHY
The population of Indonesia can be divided into two major groups: in the western region most of the people are from the Malay ethnicity while in the eastern region there are the Papuans originating from the Melanesian Islands. Indonesia also recognizes specific ethnic groups that come from a certain province/area and have specific language for example the Javanese from Central or East Java, the Sundanese from West Java or the Batak ethnicity from North Sumatra.

In addition, there are also minority ethnicities derived from Chinese, Indian and Arabic descendents. These people travelled as merchants through trade exchange since the 8th century BC and migrated to Indonesia. Approximately 3% of the population is from Chinese ethnicity, although the exact percentage is not known as the last ethnicity census was held in the 1930s.

Islam is the major religion of 85.2% of the population, designating Indonesia as the largest Moslem country in the world. The remaining population consists of Protestants (8.9%); Catholics (3%); Hindus (1.8%); Buddhists (0.8%) and other religion (0.3%).

Many Indonesians speak their ethnic language as their mother tongue. However, the Indonesian language is the official language and it is taught at all schools and most Indonesians are proficient in using the language for communication.

POLITICS
As in other democratic countries, Indonesia applies the Trias Politica that recognizes the separation of the legislative, executive and judicial bodies. The legislative authority is under the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) that consists of two bodies namely the Parliament composing of members of political parties and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) composing of representatives from each province in Indonesia. Each province is represented by 4 delegates that are elected by the people in the respective region.

The People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) is the highest state institution. Upon the Amendment of the 1945 Constitution, the membership of the MPR starting the period of 1999-2004, was amended to include not only the members of the parliament (DPR) but also the members of the DPD. Formerly the MPR consisted of the parliament members and group representatives. Currently, the MPR has 550 members from the parliament and 128 members from the Regional Representative Council (DPD). The parliament members and the DPD members are elected every five years. Since 2004, the MPR has become a bi-chamber parliament with the DPD as second chamber.

The executive institution is centralized under the president, vice president, and the cabinet of ministers. The cabinet is a presidential cabinet in which the ministers report to the president and do not represent the political parties.

The judicial institution -since the reform era and upon the amendment of the 1945 Constitution- is administered by the Supreme Court including the administration of the judges.

PROVINCES
Indonesia has 33 provinces (including 2 Special Territories of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam and Yogyakarta) and one Special Capital Region of Jakarta (DKI). East Timor was once part of Indonesia, but then through a referendum in 1999, East Timor became the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste.Provinces in IndonesiaSumatraNanggroe Aceh Darussalam North Sumatera West Sumatera Bengkulu Riau Riau Islands Jambi South Sumatera Lampung Bangka Belitung IslandsJavaJakarta West Java Banten Central Java Yogyakarta Special Territory East JavaKalimantanWest Kalimantan Central Kalimantan South Kalimantan East Kalimantan Nusa Tenggara Bali West Tenggara Barat East Nusa Tenggara Sulawesi West Sulawesi North Sulawesi Central Sulawesi South Sulawesi South East Sulawesi Gorontalo Maluku and Papua IslandsMaluku North Maluku West Papua Papua

ECONOMY

In the 1990’s, Indonesia’s economy experienced a set-back as a consequence of the economy crisis that hit most Asian countries. However, the economy is now relatively stable.

Indonesia has abundant natural resources outside Java including crude oil, natural gas, tin, copper and gold. Despite being the second largest exporter of natural gas, Indonesia recently has become a net importer of crude oil. The agriculture products of Indonesia include rice, tea, coffee, spices and rubber.

The major trade partners of Indonesia are Japan, the United States of America and neighboring countries namely Malaysia, Singapore and Australia.

Although Indonesia is rich in natural and human resources, the country is still facing crucial issues of poverty that mainly is caused by the wide-spread corruption in the government.

The Central Bank is Bank Indonesia.

CULTURAL ART

Indonesia’s cultural art is greatly influenced by other cultures, such as the Hindu mythology and culture that is reflected in the Javanese and Balinese dances.

Many of the dances also reflect some Islamic values. Several of these dances originate from the island of Sumatra, such as the Saman Meusukat dance and the Seudati dance from Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.

Another famous cultural item from Indonesia is the wayang kulit (shadow puppet made from goat skin) that depicts mythological characters and stories. The art of old poetry in the form of quatrain and couplet sayings from various regions such as the Malay quatrain are often cited in special occasions or in cultural performances.

One of Indonesia’s cultural heritage that has been acknowledged as a world heritage is the batik cloth. The prominent batik industry areas are in Yogyakarta, Solo, and also Pekalongan.

Pencak silat is an art of self defense which is uniquely from Indonesia. This martial art is sometimes shown at certain performances accompanied by traditional music of the region.

In the field of music, Indonesia is rich with traditional as well as modern music that extends from the city of Sabang (the western point of Indonesia) to the city of Merauke (the eastern point of Indonesia). Although traditional music including Javanese keroncong is commonly known, modern music is more popular followed by dangdut music. Dangdut is one type of music originating from Indonesia that has also become quite popular throughout the country. This type of music is a blend of Malay and Indian music with elements from traditional music as well. The name of “Dangdut “ is derived from the sounds of “dang” and “dut” (pronounced as “doot”) that come from the dominating resonances of the bongo and the flute. The Dangdut singers usually sing while dancing expressively and gracefully following the beat of the music. There are several varieties of Dangdut music namely Malay Dangdut, Modern Dangdut (using modern instruments) and Coastal Dangdut (influenced by Javanese and Sundanese traditional music). In the 1970s, Dangdut was initially recognized as a type of Malay orchestral music, but in the 1980s, this type of music became more popularly known as Dangdut music.

The people of Indonesia consist of various ethnic groups, religions and faith. The various ethnic groups are for example Batak, Karo, Minangkabau, Malay in Sumatra and so forth. Indonesia acknowledges several religions namely Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism and Buddhism and the Konghucu faith, but the majority of the population are Moslems

यौयोऊ – ME & Our world

YOU – ME & Our world
Dear All,
It is written based on the fact that the beauty of this earth is less and lessen from time to time. we do not stop or we can not stop it from the improper त्रेअत्मेंट, it means that sooner or later we give the worse condition of the world to our beloved children

When it happen, the question come up, from our next generation ofcourse ... what kind of parents we are....
Then they sink with uncommon sight that we will have never seen before.
They think we are the liar. Am I right ?
If so,...

Do we still love your family?
Do we really love your children?
Do we really care your next generation ?
How can they believe us?
Do less, just talk too much...
That is what we are today and in that time.

Just imagine
What they do as they see our picture.
Then they put it off and trow it away
They are so angry.
They hate seeing us.
They blame us
For not doing things properly.
Can you see that?
Can we imagine .... ?

If we do not realize about the danger of our misconduct to this world.
If we do not commit to keep green of this earth.
If we can not stop others for doing bad things.
If we just think for us ourselves today.

My friend,
If we really love our family, and then we prove it.
If we really care of our children and their future then we should commit to prove it.
Good our family, better the world in general will be.
Bad our family, worse the world with its damage as the impact of bad conduct.

I am thingking about family ofcourse.
But not only me, my wife, my children.
The family of the whole world.
The children from the whole world, Afrika, Asia, Arab, Europe, America, Japan, Australia...All of them.
They are all white to me
They are all innocent.
They are handsome and beautiful reflected from their smile when they see us.
They want us to hold tightly.
They laugh...when play with you, with me...
And they cry also when they miss you...

They have ther right to get the best
They deserve for having better worlk if possible

My friend,
My brother,
My sister,
Let me take you there.
To the beauty of our dream.
To the beauty of our wisdom.
To the beauty of our world as well.
To the beauty of the God creation.

Think about the time
When we are not here.
Our children, grand children, great great grandchildren express their special thank and pray
When they gather for the nice breakfast, and dinner....
Then they teach their children the great lesson they had.
Yess, the great lesson from you. From me, and from us....

Still want to destroy the nice picture of the fam?
Insist on making this world worse?

Go back home
Greet your wife/ husband and your children warmly.
They miss you so much.
They have been waiting for the whole day for along time.
Kiss them all
Hold...
Stop teaching them about the different.
Stop asking them to differ people
Stop doing the wrong thing

Because you are the son of your Dad.
The daughter of your Mom
Who realize it was wrong.
Regret for not doing the best during their live.

Our children
They are not just now.
But also later on..
Put the great picture of you ... of us
On the wall of their deepest heart
On the nice wall of their home.

You in America...
You in Europe.....
You in Japan....
You, you all
who are from the advanced country.
You are all living with the hign standard.
Enjoy doing everything everyday.
You taste in every moment with your family.
High technology, High touch in your life

But
Why don’t you just look at them
Your brother and sister
Your parents...
Even your children too.
They wear what they have.
They eat what they get.
They are hungry and begging for the change
Changing of their life...
They don’t understand.
Your stile is just a fantasy
Comfort living is just out of their mind

May be you think you are better.
Bright and shining...
But is it right?
your different color of the skin
What else can make us understand and reallize...
What kind of pray can they read,
they say every morning???
They call the God too, right?

They are all white to me.
They are all white to me
They are all my parent.
They are all my brother, my sisters and my children too.

They cut the tree everyday
Then the forest is less and broken.
The weather has changed and unpredictable

They bomb the sea every evening for the fish, shark, etc.
For their living...
And sell it to you...
You are rich...
Rich of money and excellency
Rich of hight technology.
Rich of Comfort living.

How about your heart...
My friend.
You and Me
They are watching us on TV,
How different world they see.
How can it be happened.

We are living in the same sun.
We are walking in the same earth,
Why don’t we just walk hand in hand.
Work together for a better world.
For a better life.

YOU - ME & Our Dream

Dear Friend,

It is about the dream.
When I was a litle child, My Father asked me. What did you want to be? And I answered spontanously that I wanted to be a RichMan. Why...? My Father added. Well, it would be so easy, and nice if I had much money. I can buy everything I want....
That was a short conversation...along time ago.

And now I remember again about my old dream.
I am 43 years old now. Married with 4 nice children. Two daughters, and two sons. My wife is a housewife.
The question is,.. Am I rich man ? Yes, ofcourse. I am a richman. Rich of experience that makes me mature enough to learn this living. Rich of efforts that makes me understand the beautiful life. Rich of imagination that makes me able to go and see manything without any limitation of my body or soul.

How about money...?
Well, my friend, if it is your point. I am not a richman yet. But you know what?
My dream has changed already. It is not about money. It is not about me and my fantasy. but it is about my children, my family, and my next generation.

My dream is to prepare our children become those who are better than us today.
Those who never think about the different.
The people who love each other.
Those who understand that this world is to beautiful to fight.
The people who appreciate each other.
The next people who stay, work, gather hand in hand.
With the same feeling and heart.
Those who cry when they see their brother or sister hungry.
Those who smile and laugh when they see others happy.

What can we do for that.
Is there anything we can do today?

Yes, My friend.
Yes, because you are my brother.
Because you have parent, brother, and sister.
Because you have family.

Let's make a new dream.
which is much more challenging and interesting.
Let's make this world more beautiful,
by going back to basic.
We love and care our family.
We love and care our neigbor.
We love and care all of people around us,.
and
last but not least we love and care all people in this world.
No crying.
No blood.
No war.
No useless fight...

You & Your Children

Dear All,
Do you have any children?
How many children do you have ? Who do you like most, your nice daughter or good son ?
How old are they ? Do you still rembember when they were still a baby ?
What makes you happy with them ?
And,... there hundreds questions that people give to you.
The answers are vary and mostly make you feel happy. And sad for some.

I remeber the first time I had a cute baby.
She was so beautifull. My life was changed. Everything is more and more different. I am happy.
But then,....is it enough? Ofcourse not. Our baby is growing. Slowly but sure, she makes her own personality, and has her own dream as well.
What should we do to make our children strong, smart, creative, etc.
What shcool do we have to choose?
What kind of lesson/ course do we have to give?

I think, we may not forget that education is very important. It is very basic and principal. So, one thing that you should remember.
You and your wife or you and your husband are the most important teacher for our children.
Teach them many basic lesson that you think useful for their life. Math, languange, geography, history, etc. We ourselves who can teach and lead them to the basic life.

At home, everything is given. At home everything is translated. So when they grow and getting mature they become the reall excellent one with a better ways than we do.

At scholl....?
They just have Teachers, Instructors to be their partners for finding the ideal one, or just to compare what they have at home.

In short, You and I from now on become their real teachers,...
Because we know better then others...
Because we are more familiar with them...
Because we understand their want and their heart...
And
Because they want us to be like that....!

Dear All,
Have you ever fallen in love? When was that ? Isn't it nice. Unforforgetable ....right?
Then you dream to marry him/ her because you love so much. Think of your couple (wife/ husband). Why you like him/ her ?

Believe it or not my friend.
Your wife is stil your best. Best for your life now and forever.
How can you keep your feeling good to her?
first of all
Think of your wife's kindness. especially her attention when you are sick, or when you are stressed because of your job. or anything. Again and again your wife there.....!!! Am i right?
If it is not enough, you can try to imagine one day when you are old. Too old to do anything. Who can help you. Who can be with you without any grumble at all. Again and again your wife....She will be there ...!!!
So, don't waste your time to give your best attitude to her. Keep smiling, make her happy, and
kiss slowly...
